Perimeter: North Sea Skate
Right, well, I can't sit on this forever.
Seeing as my degree sponsors have finally seen fit to place me upon a geosurveying vessel for 1 1/2 months, I'd better get all my news out before I go next week.
I've at last arrived upon a journey that feels like the right thing to do after my degree. The right reasons to do it slotted nicely in with my current line of work, I have time to really research and prepare for the opportunities to learn about calfache, other countries, causes...and couches to crash on.
It sounds like a truly brilliant idea, i'm very jealous. I want to offer any support that skatefurther can give, if you want any help then dont hesitate to ask.
The reason I decided to set up an organisation like this was to help people achive thier Long Distance Skate goals. Im so stoked for you.
Ben

following our little conversation yesterday Laura, I think it's a truly epic idea. I can only support what Ben has already said. We are fully Behind you 100%. Anything we can do, just say.

Guys, thank you so much. It's been really nice to get so many nice responses, and don't you worry, when the time comes, you'll hear from me. In the mean time I'll get a F! logo up on the site somewhere
The hard work begins now! Well actually, in a few months, because I have to go (tbc) float around the North Sea for a while before I can actually start planning to go around it. A fact finding mission in itself, because I'm sure those old salty sailors will know a few things.

Superb choice, Laura. Please let us know about your planning - stuff, routes, sofas, food etc.

Oooo! *squeal*
It's all rather exciting here. Just the sheer excitement of all the creativity boxes in my brain flooding with the potential of this is waking me up into this glum Sunday. I also have a church across my front lawn, so it's like Songs of Praise here - so soothing.
I adore my Demonseed. I adore it. Let me state that. But depending on what I choose - a 100% skate journey, or a mix of hiking and skating, I need something lighter. In three years time, there's going to be a wealth of developments in the longboarding world, so I'm sort of happy to let time do its thing... I wonder if there'll be a light light DS by then, and what will Larry have come up with?
Also, I know that I want wheels between 74-80mm. Having skated with the mahoosive Fly97's for so long, I knew it was time for a change. Love fly97's but me love me fly76's and I'm willing to try all sorts of wheels out. I'm thinking of the potential for this trip to be a lot of things - a brain tester - a gear tester, an educational trip, a charitable trip, a life learning experience.
Boom. I is a Happy Skater (which has been updated with new pix btw )
