 John O'Groats - Lands End
As im sure people are aware, skate trips are expensive. Especially ones with full vehicular support! If me and Tom are going to be able to do things the way we want we are going to need to find some outside support ( financially ).
Can anyone suggest any companies from whom we can beg support?

Re: John O'Groats - Lands End
Running costs of a car are set at 37.28 pence per mile for a cars year being 10,000 miles. This includes insurance etc. minusing them out it works out at about 22.8 pence per mile, and for a trip of 1780miles (round trip) then without financial backing from somewhere, the car more than doubles the cost of the trip. (approx £400 extra)
If anyone knows an easy source of £400 then please shout!
*edit: £300 would cover it actually. My annual milage fits my student budget (less than 8000 miles a year) so an extra 2000 on top is more than I can afford, even to support Ben. If we could borrow another car/van then it would be cheaper, or found some way to cover the extraneous costs so just petrol was covered...

Re: John O'Groats - Lands End
How about a human powered support vehicle. ie a recumbent trike and trailer, this could carry all your heavy gear, tents etc and the planet would love you more. I have such a machine but this year is out of the question. I'm free next year if any one's interested!!

Re: John O'Groats - Lands End
Ben, now you have your route, what is the distance and what time are you looking to achieve? What is your average daily target (either time, or distance)?

Re: John O'Groats - Lands End
Well, the shit is really hitting the fan now!!!! Having to rethink the trailer at the last minute because i noticed some of the parts were moving around in the drop through mounts which could potentially lead to the whole system imploding........
I'm having to look into using a rucksack, which sucks because i have got really bad shoulders.
I'm having the shittest week ever!! I just want to get on the train and piss off to Scotland!

Re: John O'Groats - Lands End
Rucksack....to be fair, Ben - I have been thinking it might be the wisest plan for a record attempt such as your own. I'm sorry the trailer's not working for you, mate. You, like myself, have invested quite a lot in your adventure and I hope you get the best result. If there's anything I can do to help, let me know mate. Perhaps I can find out if Cotswold can help out.
