We should start a UK series. Random city. City and start given out then finish given out 24 hours before start. Push race. Any route. Skatefurther Cup and bragging rights for winner.
Tail for ollieing up curbs? roads vs Pavements?
helmets compulsory. Responsible for yourself only.
Outlaw dawn-raid racing.

Re: UK Push Race Series
I've been talking to ben about a having a race in cardiff, we have a 13-ish mile trail, mostly smoother than goodwood, maybe go up, then back down to finish somewhere else, or cross the bay barrage and finish somewhere that side? sounds great

Sexy times - I'm so glad I found that vid - it sums up my perfect day. I've done the Seawall, and it was SWEET!
For the record, there's some super fun times Rayne shots in there of them gripping up my first Seed.
I'd be into this idea, with perhaps fair warning for people coming from far away.
We need to get this shiz going because, as much as Ultra distance is at an extreme end (and mostly what we've been up to for the last few years), of what Further deals with, it's not accessible to all, it's not physically feasible for some people. Some people are better off in their natural environment, the city, the street, the trail. This is the future of our scene...this is how we build it up!

I have a trai from wroting to brighton, being about 15-18 miles, maybe we can act as hosts to some degree and set then up in our own areas to create the series

Re: UK Push Race Series
This is the kind of thing I'd love to see happen - like the broadway bomb. I'm working on ideas for a potential Paris route but it seems to be a pretty foreign concept to everyone here. There is also the legislation side of things which is pretty sketchy...
Id love to take part though im not sure if I could do much to help with prep. And im pretty damn certain I dont have a suitable tailed board...

totally agree with you there Laura, where building up a scene is the goal.
the low-key, totally underhyped "Portland Pusher" series in Oregon started around 2003, headed up by Josh Burt, a local slalom brother. it lasted over a span of several years, had 10 races in all, even back then attendance was 50++ skaters, one time it got close to 100. the distances ranged from something like 3 miles to 15. a quick and daring ride across town, accessible, and through the town of Portland Oregon where skateboarding on streets is legal!
the Ultraskates in contrast haven't to their core really intended to build up a large following. it was more focused around individuals pushing their limits and I've never expected most skaters to fall into that mold. which makes the crews that have committed to Ultras in the past across the world all the more amazing to me.
Robin McGuirk a.k.a. "The Leg" dominated 9 out of 10 of the Portland Pushers. he felt this short sprint type race across towns had just the right combination of speed, stamina, and danger.
