Hey guys,
Whilst I agree that the decor of the boards leave a little to be desired, I'm a little suprised by the negativity towards Blackkross as a whole.
In order to 'spread the stoke' about longboarding they often organise days at the Trocadero in Paris where anyone can get a free 'lesson' with safety equipement in a relaxed atmosphere. Granted they're putting forward their brand, but i expect that Lush will also at the B2B and quite rightly so.
From my perspective the boards are fairly priced (Kobra excepted) and they also are one of the very few places in France to stock longboarding parts. From my point of veiw they play a fairly central role (perhaps along with Aluflex, PLA and Pappy Boyington's blog) to the longboarding scene at least in the Paris region.
Riderz.net is a little like a mini (mainly Parisian) Silverfish. It's an association and has helped organise the 2008 Paris Slamom World Cup stage, local winter slalom events and roughly once-monthly Paris distance skates. I'm part of the commitee so PM if you need any more info.
I've not had extensive dealing with the guys at Blackkross but they've always been pretty friendly, lending out some slide gloves and exchanging tips on setups (they're big fans of Holey's). I've not really skated their boards much but it seems like they've had a good stab at living their dream.
You can also order directly from them (a friend ordered a custom model which is possibly one of their nicer looking creations
http://longboardskate.blogspot.com/2009 ... rue-d.html).
I'm sure that they'd really be interested in hear some feedback about the boards though. If anyone cares to comment about anything i can pass on the relevent info. Also if ever any of you guys are in Paris it would be great to meet up!
Chris
