Right, basically I took my fathom to bits to give it a damn good clean. Here's what it looks like right now.

L-R Fathom, bearings, wheels and trucks

(on a side note, cleaning biltin bearings is easy. Stick them in the washing up bowl with the dishes, scrub, dry on a radiator and then put speed cream on them)

Really couldn't be bothered to set it all back up so I messed with the loaded dervish. Lowered it and put on the 'lifting mechanism' (cheers Alec!)

Still needs to go lower imho but needs must. Skates fine, super fun and the lifting mechanism works.
